INTRODUCTION TO SCREEN PRINTING WORKSHOP
9AM SATURDAY 4 JULY
ST ANDREW'S COLLEGE ART ROOM
Join us for a day and learn the full process of screen printing production! We will begin with an art workshop with Tori – outlining how to get an idea from your head onto the page, and then adapted for the printing process. Then Craig will demonstrate how this design is burned onto the screen using light sensitive emulsion, including the creation of a DIY darkroom! Screens will cure over a lunch break and in the afternoon we will start playing with inks, colour mixing, some test printing of your design on screen and finally printing and colouring your final item(s). For learners, and young adults, this is like learning an entire career in a day, for artists, this is a practical, profitable and useful skill to reproduce your artwork, and for those just wanting to try something new: it is simple, fun and very rewarding!
We will communicate a few details closer to the event to prepare you for a great day learning how to screen print. You will be able to bring your own laptops if you want to do some design, if you are able. Otherwise, everything will be supplied.
Snacks and drink provided.
